Screven Co. block party shooting leaves 6 people injured – Journal Today Online

SCREVEN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – The Screven County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is investigating a shooting that left six people injured.

On June 29, SCSO received calls about a shooting at Lawton Place Neighborhood. The calls indicated that a shots had occurred at an unpermitted block party being held in the neighborhood.


As a result of the shooting six people suffered gunshot related injuries and multiple cars had damage from being struck by bullets.

Officers arrived on scene and additional law enforcement was provided by Sylvania Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and Bulloch County Sheriff’s.

So far the investigation has indicated that multiple people were shooting during the incident.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is assisting with this investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Screven County Sheriff’s Office at 912-564-2013.

Anyone with photographs or videos from this incident or the events leading up to it are asked to provide them to Screven County Sheriff’s Office.

Following the incident a higher presence of law enforcement should be exprected at tonight’s Screven County fireworks. Officials say their main priority is the safety of all citizens.
